In collaboration with the SBA/SCORE, EDD, and NOVA, the Sunnyvale Public Library hosted a month-long series of programs in November.

These programs provided a variety of information resources to help current and aspiring small business owners start and/or run their business. There were a total of 14 programs, and a total of 288 people attended. Speakers included employees from EDD, the Sunnyvale Public Library, NOVA; SCORE volunteers, and the SBDC; one speaker from Lockheed-Martin, and one was an owner of a local tax preparation business.

Topics included: doing business with large corporations and government entities; should you start a business; various business-related tax issues; financing a business; using online applications for your business.  The programs were well-received by the attendants!  Stay tuned for an all-day session of similar programs at the Sunnyvale Community Center on May 9, 2008.  This will be hosted by the Sunnyvale’s Economic Development Department…we’ll keep you posted!

I could not attend these classes on starting your own business. Is there any way I can get a recording of the classes?
