Next Tuesday, May 5, 2009, Dr. Harold Luft, author of Total Cure: The Antidote to the Health Care Crisis, will speak at the Sunnyvale Public Library at 7 p.m.
Proposals for reforming the health care system typically focus on increasing private coverage or expanding government-sponsored plans. Coverage for everyone may not provide quality care, flexibility for clinicians and ways to continually improve the value of health care. Addressing issues like these, Dr. Harold Luft will present his proposal for health care reform as described in Total Cure.
Hal Luft, PhD, is a health economist who had been on the faculty at Stanford University and UCSF for 35 years. He recently became Director of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute, with research focused, in part, on hospital competition, HMOs, quality of care, incentives in medical care, and health care reform. He is the author of over 200 journal articles and the author or editor of five books.
Please join us Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Library Program Room.
