Don’t let this happen to you!

Daylight Saving Time ends on this Sunday morning, November 2, at 2 a.m.  As the old adage goes, Spring Forward and Fall Back, so make sure to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.  No excuses if you show up to the Library at 11 a.m. and find the doors still locked.

Have you noticed any of your electronics this week seem to have the wrong time?  They might have been programmed with the old Daylight Saving Time dates.  If you recall, back in 2007, new start and stop dates became effective and we now change back the first Sunday in November, instead of the last Sunday in October.  If you’re curious about all this, the California Energy Commission has an informative page all about DST.

Aikido — 4 PM Saturday October 20, 2008

The library is always an exciting place, but there will be even more action this Saturday, October 25 when Aikido Silicon Valley stops by to demonstrate Aikido and talk about the history of this fascinating martial art.

Aikido practitioners deflect attacks by redirecting the energy and momentum of the attacker. Aikido involves throws, falls, joint locks, and other moves. Come learn about Aikido and see it in action! The program begins at 4 pm.
